Project Description

FEDINC performed for Outotec (USA), Inc the design and coordination of construction of a 140 tons-per-hour chromite plant for Oregon Resources Company (ORC) that is located in Coos Bay, Oregon. FEDINC utilized 3D design for all aspects of the project. The ORC chromite plant is an industrial manufacturing facility that was designed to process ore sands from their offsite mine. The project scope included buildings to house the processing equipment, operations personnel and analytical laboratory.

FEDINC provided detailed engineering design plans and specifications suitable for procurement and construction which included multi-disciplined coordination of Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, Process Flow Diagram (PFD), and Piping and Instrumentation Design (P&ID) engineering. Engineering responsibilities included detail design for electrical distribution, structural steel, foundations/piling, piping, and mechanical disciplines. In addition to detail design, process engineering assistance was provided for process improvements and equipment selection/sizing.
